The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 4.0
ESET Smart Security is a powerful security tool that can save your PC from virus, online threats and spam. The program creates a security wall on every side of your operating system using its powerful Firewall, Antispam module and Antispyware to provide complete protection from every source of virus.
The program offers two user modes, advanced and standard. Using the Advanced mode, you can configure every small thing of the antivirus, firewall and email scanner. But in the Standard mode, most of the processes are automated. You can also customize the alerts and actions for the infected emails or block web pages you don’t want to be accessed using your PC. The antivirus integrates into the Windows right-click menu and enables you to scan any file or document in two clicks.
The rest of the features like Quarantine, Scheduler, Exclusions and powerful real time virus scanner are simplified for the novice. A brand new feature called ThreatSense.Net is also supported that informs you about the latest viruses and threats.
